Making it their business?

The role of business in supporting and resourcing the causes of lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and intersex (LGBTI) people in South Africa

Inyathelo, in collaboration with Atlantic Philanthropies, made a presentation to the 'Open Forum' organised by the Africa Foundations of the Open Society in Cape Town between 22 and 24 May 2012. Melanie Judge and Gabrielle Ritchie (Inyathelo), along with Gerald Kraak (South Africa Programme Executive for Reconciliation and Human Rights, Atlantic Philanthropies), argued that the long-term advancement and sustainability of the rights and justice of LGBTI people is critical to South Africa’s democratisation as well as building a more inclusive society.
